finally found out this yukon, doesnst have "autoride" even though the build sheet and emblems said so. it ends up just being (ESC) electronic suspension control, so i can eliminate them or change them without an major problems.

What have you guys had luck with, aftemarket shocks? its only about 2" taller than oem and doesnt really go offroad

My 96 has kyb monomax shocks that I put on about 30,000 miles ago still have pelnty of life in them and they really made the truck drive/handle heavy loads better. The finish has also stayed very nice (paint has not chipped or flaked off, and with a little bit of bug/tar remover and soap they shine up like new). A few trucks at work have also had their oem shocks replaced with KYB monomax, no issues or complaints there either.

I don't know. I really liked those stock ESC shocks that were on our 03 Suburban, they would sag under weight but then a mile or so down the road, they would level back up. It was pretty nice to have. If we still had it and I needed a set I would probably put them back on.

Otherwise, I would go Bilsteins, had them on my last truck and this truck, they adapt to different road conditions well for my HD.

my reason for changing is i added about 3" of lift so the oem rear shocks are maxed out, besides the fronts leaking

I just changed out my OEM's and went with the Monroe Reflex shocks. They have improved the ride and the bounce I getting which was similar a lowrider on hydraulics is gone. It feels solid again.

Bilsteins. You get what you pay for.

If they were somewhat equal they would be $75 also.

NOT Skyjacker, the rears fit ok the fronts fit VERY poorly. The customer service is not good ,when you can figure out what they are saying,Deep Cajun.
