Moving this over to the suspension for you.

But, here's my take on it:

W/O spending too much money you can bet a b/l and some heavy duty T-bars and run 285's w/o a problem

To fit 33's you'd be looking at a suspension lift which is going to set you back a few grand.

Put a 3" body lift on your truck. You might also want to crank the torsion bars a few rounds. I have 3" body lift and cranked my torsion bars about an inch. I have 33x12.50 16.5 tires and with my 7.5 foot snow plow on my tires rub my mud flaps only at full lock. If you put 285/75/R16s on you wouldnt need to crank your t-bars any. One of my buddies has a half ton with a 2" body lift and 285's and they dont rub any. But they dont look as good as the 33x12.50's, cause the 285 are narrower.
