Sct X3 Or Sf3 Tuner - Most Overlooked?

In all my searching around about tuners, it seems nobody even knows much about this one for Chevy and it's not popular. Seems like the perfect handheld, can get custom tunes written that are just as good as with EFI or HP tuners, and the SF3 comes with three "canned" tunes as well. Doesn't look like they support 09-10 models just yet, but up through '08 they do.

Its a handheld, has full ECM and TCM control, can data log, adjust tire sizes, shift firmness, read and clear codes, all the good stuff. Only thing missing is that you can't hook up aftermarket analog signals for EGT or AFR, but the rest is there and if you go to dyno it, i'm sure they'll have a gauge to look at that extra.

I can't see any reason this isn't everything you could want. Thought I'd throw it out there since I never hear about it. I just bought one and will be playing with it and probably getting a custom tune or two written as well (can get a few custom tunes all saved and switch between them). I'll try to report the details in a month or so when I get it all figured out.

Are you sure they have TCM support on the GMT900's? I didn't think any current handheld had full TCM support.

I don't see anything on their website about it.

Yes. 2007-08. Not sure what you mean by "full", but it's supposed to be able to do anything HP tuners will do ;)

Actually most handhelds do. It's only diablo and maybe one or two others that don't. But the others don't give you the adjustability of diablo's, but SCT does. http://www.sctflash.com/SF3GM.php

They sure do - I've had an SCT X3 handheld for almost a year now on my '09. :lurk:

It's a handheld and tunes both the ECU & TCU. With the 3 custom tunes loaded on there it does kill some of the extra features. Such as not being able to change the tune on the HH or data logging. Well, it could log data, but the 3 tunes take up all of the storage space. I got mine tuned from W4M who uses EFI Live, but I don't see why anybody else couldn't use them.

Anyone else run SCT or Diablo? Ive been in the Ford world and SCT is the primary handheld tuner of choice. I am familiar with the XCAL and know they now offer it to GM owners. Just looking for feed back as I may pickup one up down the line. I have a check engine light that keeps popping up every now and again. I would hate to pickup a reader just for that. SCT/Diablo can read DTC codes as well.

Cheers!
