I heard that the 4inch lift on a Rancho is really 5.4 inches? that true?? With a 4-inch lift will i be able to fit 315-75-16 tires? The Trailmaster ad says with their 4inch lift that you can fit 315-75-16 tires. Anyone know? thanks

If I were you, I would go to http://www.gorancho.com , and send there Technical Support people an email, or call em.  I emailed them about Rim backspacing requirements for the 4" (or whatever it actually is) lift, and they replied in a two days, which ain't bad.  Just a thought.

I can probably let you know by some time tomorrow. They are installing the Rancho 4" Kit (9000's) and the Rancho steering stabilizer on mine as we speak. The Pro Comp 315's will be here tomorrow and I can let you know then. I was told no problem and also that you are correct on the 5.4" for the Kit. I think they adjust the torsion bars to get the extra height though.....

Good luck-

Those are the one's. You can go to www.procomptires.com to see them. Unfortunately, my lift is being pushed back to Tuesday. They got backlogged due to the holiday weekend....a bit of a bummer, but I'd rather have it done right. Now to just get through the weekend myself without thinking about it too much- Torture you know! Nothing like wanting a long weekend to go by fast????? I must be insane

I am getting the AllTerrain. 315/75/16- Not quite as drastic tread- But very nice....

BTW- Nice Truck and great pics--Kudos to you!

Rancho makes a good lift kit, but some of the parts are made overseas, and if you want a skid plate, that costs extra and the orange paint, well, some like it and some repaint it . Trailmaster kits are made in the USA and they come with the skidplates, and no cutting up your differential housing, comes with Trw balljoints, center link steering and beefier tierods, everything is powder coated black and grey, nice lift kit for the money.

Rancho does also have the "Black" option now, so you don't have to get it in red.  Another good choice for a lift would be Superlift 6" suspension lift.  Just another one for you to look into.  Let me know if you want the directions to the rancho and superlift, I've got both laying around here somewhere.  Since you live close by I can meet you somewhere with them.

Don't rule out the X-Terrains, they actually wear great, and get good mielage despite being such a knobby looking tire.  Not only that, but I was able to test them out in rain, snow, icy roads, over a few fields and they never even broke free in 2wd.

Hey Sierra5.3,

I have a 2001 Tahoe, which I put on a 4" (5.4"?) on myself.  I noticed that it looked taller than a 4" lift but I am happy with the way it turned out.  I purchased the lift before Rancho offered the "Black" option so I had to powder coat my lift before I installed it.  Through the entire installation process I was completely happy with the entire kit.  Rancho's kit is thorough and impressive and I highly recomend the kit.
