1st Check Engine Light On My '08 Sierra

So this morning I hit my remote start and notice my truck attempts to start but doesnt..has happened before and wasnt really a big deal to me so I went out and got in to crank it. The truck starts but almost dies as it attempts to idle smoothly..coughing and sputtering and then the check engine light comes on as the truck begins to idle normally. I call OnStar and was told the code was something to do with Emissions System Break In and that it would clear itself after 50 miles or 3-4 cold starts. My truck has 32000 miles and this is the first time I've ever had the light come on and stay which by the way, its still on after driving almost 200 miles today. I went ahead and made an appointment with the dealer and was told its ok to drive, just probably some bad gas or something and that they would clear the code out. My truck has had the rough idle before but seems to happen only about this time of year and not in the winter when its cold outside. I have the 5.3 with GM Performance exhaust and cai as well as a tune. I have the stock modules but Im just going to leave the tuned ones in since they were in when the check engine light came on. Im just interested to see if anyone else has dealt with something similar.

Goto Autozone and have them pull the codes for you, it's free. Then post the codes here and we can help point you in the right direction.

make the dealer fix it, screw autozone you have a warranty for a reason..

Oh, I based that comment off not having a warranty.

Got truck back from dealer and they cleared the code out but also told me I needed to put the stock tune back in and then see if the light comes back on. I just swapped them back and plan on driving it that way for a week or so just to see if it happens again. Hopefully the tune wasn't causing it but anyways..it's running ok now so no biggie yet.
