2008 Sierra Denali Radio Question/issue

Does anyone know of a way you can get an actual visual indicator of where these nbs Sierra Denali NAV radios are volume wise. Just a PITA to me to not be able to see exactly where the volume is on a scale of 1-10...This is the first vehicle I have ever owned where this is no actual visual of where you are on the volume scale. If the controls on the steering wheel were not so bad, IE slow to work, it would not be such a big deal, but not being able to see where the volume is at has been a downer.

Let me know, thanks.

I use my ears. :chevy:

J/K..but really I think they finally realized having visual indicators of the audio volume was only useful to deaf people.

I have the Nav unit and I don't know of any way to make the volume control visible. I have actually never had a vehicle that had a visual volume bar. I have seen it, but I haven't had it even with my aftermarket stereos :chevy:

I think my steering wheel controls are actually pretty quick, but that being said. I have noticed where I grab them effects how responsive the controls are.

One last thing. I don't know if this will help your issue or not, but you do know you can adjust how much the volume changes with speed. The stereo will raise and lower the volume with how fast you are going. The sensitivity of this function can be changed or turned off.

It's not just for the Deaf...come on...it's nice to see if you are close to max or not...just a convenience for sure, but a nice one.

I am not so much talking about a Volume Bar, but just any visual indicator, IE, 1-10, 10-100, a Bar, etc...whatever. Any OEM radio I have...07 Armada, 10 G37 Sedan, and even the Aftermarket radios I have had in my Mustang and 98 GMC truck...all showed where you were in the Volume Scale.

Again...a convenience, but something I personally care about. I am just surprised no one else had mentioned this...but to each his own.

As far as the steering wheel controls...I find you have to really pull on them to get the Volume to start moving well...and a dealer friend who has an 08 2500 said the same thing so I know it's not just me there...and yes, I know about the Auto Volume Speed Sensor...I have it up to High on all our vehicles and while it helps...it still does not show you were you are at volume wise on this truck...but yes, it helps.

Thanks for the replies.
