Yukon 6.2 Question

I just noticed you can get the 6.2 without AFM and a bit less HP in the SLT model, but the Denali version comes with AFM and more HP. Does anyone know why they market both motors? I also don't know much about AFM, but why would you get more HP?

I doubt you would ever notice the difference in HP or the AFM. I think the more noticable difference, would be the SLT Yukon XL is a part time 4x4 where the Denali is a full time AWD setup.

Just FYI from what I read its strictly a option on the SLT XL, NA on the std wheelbase.

Back when I bought my 2009 6.2 there was an option for the yukon to have the 6.2, or at least the website was offering this.

Like my Sierra, it was a non-afm setup. This I believe was the only option for the L92 in 2009.

I have read articles saying this motor will soon be using AFM technology. For all I know, the 10s might already have implemented it... Just havent looked at gmc/chevy website lately. I have also read that they may be moving to an overhead cam version as a truck motor... Something to think about if you are in the market to buy... I think it was 2011 or 12
