Crew Cab Dimensions

I have been reading up on some of the new specs of the truck i am going to buy. I will be getting a 2010 2500HD Crew Cab Regular Bed but I have been told that the crew cabs are the same from the 1500 to the 2500. I am deployed right now and a lot of the vehicles we have over here are F150 Supercrew trucks and I have had the unfortunate opportunity to ride around in them while I go between the different aircraft. The rear seat in the Ford Crew Cabs are quite spacious as far as leg room goes. When I look on the GMC website under the 2500HD specs and dimensions they do not have dimensions for the Crew Cab interior. When I look under the same area for the 1500 they give interior dimensions both they are the same for extended cab and crew cabs. Well I doubt this information is correct because why would you buy a crew cab if there wasnt any difference in room? Unless I am mistaken this just doesnt make sense to me. I searched around on google to try and find Crew Cab specific dimensions but either its just what is copied from GM website or nothing really accurate.

So does anybody have these numbers or perhaps how much legroom and space there is for the backseat?

Ford lists their leg room as 41 front and 43.5 in the rear. The specs on GM's website says 38 for the rear but thats for extended & crew according to them.

I am just trying to see what I would expect in the new truck by comparison. I have only seen 3 GMC's running around this location and a bunch of Ranger's and F150's. So the Supercrew is all I have for comparison purposes.

I have a 2008 2500 crew cab. I'm 5'10" I can sit in the back seat of the truck with the front seat pushed backwards its full amt.

I was told when I was shopping for my truck the crew cab is 3" longer in the back seat area vs the extended cab.

I did/ do not fit in the extended cab back seat knees in the back of the front seat, so I bought the crew cab truck, which is a shame as I wanted a 1500 crew with a long bed and that does not exist so had to get the 2500 that is listed below.

Head to head comparison between ford / Chevy-gmc at the time for the similar truck, the ford has more room in the back seat. The dodge crew at the time was the smallest back seat area and was not even considered due to that fact (mega cab excluded, as you can not get a long bed with the mega cab at that time ).

But gm trucks have had a better reliability vs the ford and I have first hand experience with the ford diesel engines.

So GM was the choice for me.

I hope this helps you as I do not have any real numbers, just seat time in the three trucks when I was shopping and the facts may have changed due to changes in ford/dodge bodies in current production.

According to the manufacturers specs posted on MSN Auto the GMC 2500 Crew Cab rear seat legroom is 39", the 1500 is 38.7" and the Ford F150 is 43.5", all of which are more legroom by far than you get in most sedan rear seats.
