I REALLY REALLY like the look of the Nitto Mud Grapplers. I want to get that tire but im worried about road noise. I dont want it to be so loud its annoying or hard to hear the radio/talk to others in the truck. If you have any experience with this tire please let me know your opinions!!! Ill got with a diff tire if i have to but i really want to go with these. Thanks let me know what the noise level is like!

go with the kumho road ventur m/t tires,.... they are pretty sick... i had grapplers the are ok for a light truck but suck foor the road

I had a set on my last truck and they are extremely loud, great in mud and offroad, but for daily driver use, dont recommend. I would suggest using youtube and search mud grappler and listen to people who have posted videos of their tires humming.

stay away!

are you planning on going in a lot of mud often? if not... check out the mickey thompson ATZs; awesome/aggressive tires with great road manners. designed for best offroad performance in sandy type terrain.... and have heard mixed reviews about their mud performance (i can attest for their snow traction though... i was very impressed this past winter!)

if you want to do some mudding, id look at the Toyo MT or Cooper STT.....not as badass as the mud grapplers, but great reviews for a DD.

Just as Matt stated stay away.

I am running Toyo MT and compared to the Mud Grapplers, they are a hell lot quieter and honestly a smoother riding tire for a mud tire.

Damn guys this sucks lol! Was hoping they werent that bad. Ya thing is im not gonna be mudding but do get lots of snow in the winter and do drive in the sand on occasion. main thing was i just love the way these tires look! The other possible way i was thinking about goin was Toyo MT's or Nitto Trail Grapplers. And yes this is my DD so i wont be able to stand if the mud grapplers are hum my head off.

Mud Tires = Road Noise

-----------------------------

You should look into all-terrains, or just deal with the noise like a man... :(

Is it comparable to an aftermarket exhaust noise? Or if i have an aftermarket exhaust will it not be too bad or is in completly diff? Sorry for the dumb questions its just a big purchase! thanks for all the help!

Mud Grapplers are terribly noisy. I wouldn't get them if you don't want alot of road noise. Yes mud tire = road noise but there is such a thing as excessive road noise. I'm looking at mud tires too and trying to decide between- BFG km2's, Cooper STT, and Trail Grapplers.... Then maybe as a outside shot Toyo mt's (even though they are expensive as hell)

Check youtube if you want to get a close to near sound bytes of what the tires sound like. I would shoot you some links, but Govt. PC's wont allow me to access those sites. As I stated earlier, they are loud compared to other mud tires i've listen too. If you want the meats and are willing to put up with the sound, then I say go for it, honestly I liked the tires because of the aggressive look they presented on my truck plus when I did go offroading they were a beast in the mud, water, other junk you find in the woods. My only gripe was the noise, but here is the gallery to my 05' Silverado I traded in for my current GMC. With your windows up you should still be able to have a conversation with your pax without hollering, but you still will hear the humming from the tires. Cant answer your exhaust question, seeing I didn't have an aftermarket one myself. To me the tires sound like an Air Force C-5 A/B Galaxy aircraft sitting at idle on a flightline; thats just me though.

I just got rid of my 2004 f-150 screw. I had 35" mud grapplers on it. They're loud, but who cares? If you use your radio you'll forget about it. If you have exhaust that'll also get rid of the noise. I personally thought it was bad ass my truck roared when rolling down the road, people thought I was in an airplane and the girls love that shit. Besides they're the best looking tire on the market and can make a complete fugly truck look amazing. You only live once and if this is the last set of tires on your current truck i'd definetly pick them over the toyo mt's (i'll be getting toyo mts next but it's only because this is a 2010 and I have to keep it for 5 more years, the next set after those will be mud grapplers) If you want women to take a 2nd look at your truck go with the mud grapplers. I'm not downing the toyo's though. P.S. I only went mudding once every 3 months at max and I got 50,000 out of mine and sold them to someone else to use.
