katahdinlogman Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I am looking to upgrade from the crappy 245/75R16 on my 2009 Silverado 2500HD Z71. I have Stabilitrac and Traction control. I have read about guys having to turn the system off every start up but that is with lift kits and BIG tires. My question is if I am to upgrade to the 255/85R16 will the larger tire throw those systems off? I have a Bully Dog to adjust the speedo. My T-Bars are cranked and I am tired of looking at a nice big truck that looks like I stole the tires from my sisters Toyota Corolla. I Like the looks of my 16" rims but at 6 1/2" I don't trust putting a 285 on it. My tire choice has been made. I like the Cooper Discoverer ST thats what I have now in stock size. Great tire for what I do. Muddy/Rocky construction sites and yet I drive almost 2000 miles one way when I head home after a job and they don't drive me nuts. I need everyones thoughts on this one before I ruin something or have a close call with the system acting up.
alaska511 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I am having no issues with 275/70/18, none at all. They are 33.5" tall.
katahdinlogman Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Got them put on. I went with the 255/85/16 E KM2. Slight rub on the left front plastic at full left turn. Other than that they are great so far.
