Washer Reservoir Motor

Hey Guys,

So Replaced my Multi-Function switch yesterday and just by happen-stance my Window washers don't work anymore, the wipers go merrily along but, no washer juice. So upon investigation further, IE taking the Washer reservoir out. I have determined that the motor is bad or at least that's what I'm guessing.

Can someone please verify that if you put 12 Volts directly to the washer motor that it should go whirrrrrrrrr????

Mine does absolutely nothing when 12 volts is applied so I'm presuming it's toast. Also I know I have a crack somewhere in my reservoir so maybe I'll get a new one of those while I'm at it. Does the Low reservoir thingy come out easy as well? I forgot to look..

Thanks in advance guys....Have a great weekend!!!:D:fingersx:

Yep you are right. Even if you leave the connector plugged in and hit the wiper switch it should start doing stuff. Mine when out too because the casing was cracked. Went to local auto store but had to make a few trips because I got the wrong part. Make sure you take your old one and verify it against one they will give you. Mine didn't match up at all with any of them until I went to one store and I got one that wasn't exactly right but worked. Basically its the plug area. Make sure you look at how yours plugs in as opposed to the new one. They gave me one that was 2 times too small. So I was like kinda like WTF is this all about. Real easy swap but I am sure you have yours all taken out. If not just in front of the left front wheel liner at the bottom of the reservoir. Good luck!

Oh yeah both the low switch and motor are just in the reservoir by rubber grommets. Just wiggle and tug and they should come out. The low switch is like a funky looking float switch. But check to make sure your reservoir is actually cracked or maybe the grommets are cracked. I was losing fluid out of mine so I went and got another reservoir. It turned out that the motor casing was cracked and fluid was draining out that way. I think the reservoir is like $40-60 bucks. Then motor was like $20. The new reservoir came with new grommets too and I purchased it from the dealer since they were the only ones who had it.
