8.1l Pinging Issues...need Help

I have had some issues with pinging with the hypertech max energy so a week ago i put it back to factory and still doing it. I read that it can be caused from carbon build up in the combustion chamber. What is the best way to solve this issue? I have used the gm top end cleaner before in my old trucks but not sure if it will do the trick with this truck. And do not want to take any chances on something happening with this truck where this is my daily driver and my work truck in which i do alot long distance towing of 10,000lbs or more. I always run 93 octane for fuel but even that isnt helping any more plus it doesnt seem to have the power it usually does with or with out the tune. Any tips and advice would be great. Btw i now have 167,000 miles on the clock. Thanks in advance

Yeah, if you have a carbon build up try doing a seafoam treatment.

Do a search on here for "Seafoam" and you will get a full how to on this.

What is the best method to use seafoam through the throttle body with the 8.1. I tried finding this in the search but no luck. It seems like i dont have the vacuum line from the booster to the tb. Thanks

OK..I'll give you the treatment.

You buy yourself a can of deep creep, that's the spray penetrating lube.

You remove your intake pipe, and spray it in the TB with the truck running, opening the Throttle and keeping the truck going you should get about half to 3/4 of the way open before the truck stalls....This is assuming you have a cable operated TB...

When the truck stalls, let it sit for a minimum of 15-20 min before you restart it...It will blow all kinds of black grey and white smoke when it does BTW.

Also, pick yourself up a can of the Seafoam that is in a pour can. Dump 1/3-1/2 of the can in your tank with a full tank of fuel, and the other 1/2 of the can down your oil filler tube a few days before a scheduled change.

Also, get yourself a can of MAF cleaner, and soak the MAF down to get all the grime out of there too. Do not touch the wires, just spray them. make sure its dry before it goes back in too.

Once you have everything hooked back up, you will have to disconnect the battery to clear the codes as you will throw a MAF code or 2 due to running the truck with the intake tube off.

This will clean things up for you. If you have pinging after this, you have bigger issues...possible Knock sensor issues.
