14" Or 18" Magnaflow?

I've decide the muffler i need and going to put a 4" tip on with it but cant decide between a 14 or 18. I dont want to buy The 18 and it be quiet but im worried the 14 will drone bad. Im 18 so i really dont think the noise is going to bother me too much just still want to be able to talk in the cab normally and listen to music without it turned way up. The louder the better just want it to be quiet in the cab. Sound clips would be much appreciated.

I would go with the 14in. I have the 18in with a 4in tip. Sounds good but wish I had gone with 14in. Drone isn't bad with the magnaflows like with the flowmasters in my opinion.

did you check these out 12259(18") 12229(14") same i think just not polished?

the 12259 and 14259 are exactly the same muffler as far as i can tell, i would prefer the 14" over these 18" just becasue i dont want it to sound stock outside, just waiting to see if anyone with the 14 has horrible drone. I want it to sound near stock on the inside when cruising otherwise the louder ouside it is the better.

the magnaflow 12468 is what I have. But it has some drone inside not to bad. It is less drone wise then my 50 Series Flowmaster Big Block muffler. I has a good tone outside as well.

I would go with the 14" for sure, I have the same thing in an 18" with a 3" tip, and I wish it was louder, you can definately tell it's there, but I would go 14" and if the drone is bad enough, you could always put in a resonator

Are you using the stock pipes and just changing the muffler?

 

I'm seriously considering just that!

That's what I'm doing, and in most cases, the stock tubing flows well enough for a fairly stock set-up

didn't think you wanted to pay $50 extra bucks for nothing!!! Who cares if it is polished! On a show car yes but

in our applicatiion doesn't matter.

My 11246 (18" center in / out) got here about a week ago. I have yet to get it installed..hopefully tomorrow. This truck will see a lot of highway time so I went with the 18" just to be sure I wouldn't get any in-cab drone.

can the 18" still get loud when you get on it? really dont want drone just want better sound and can get loud when i want it too. Anybody elses 18" sound like

Still undecided on which one anybody else have any opinions or vids of which to get? some people like the 18 and think its perfect and others wish they had got the 14.
