I have been thinking about what I want to do with my truck. Leave it stock or customize a little bit.

Some things have me concerned I might void my warranty...so here's my list of questions.

1. If I replace the OEM muffler with straight pipe or an aftermarket muffler...will it void any warranty?

2. If I add a 2" leveling kit (any of them)...will it void any warranty?

3. Will 20" custom wheels and 33" (or metric equivelant) void any warranty?

4. Will a custom cold air intake system void any warranty?

5. Will a drop in K&N (or other high-flow filter) void any warranty?

I'm surprised this list of questions isn't already here in a "sticky" post. It must be 5 of the most highly asked questions in the automotive world.

I appreciate your ability to answer to the best of your knowledge. Thank you in advance.

It's not a sticky because it varies on a case by case basis. Depends on what the history of the truck is, exactly how/when what part failed, and most importantly---- the dealership you go to.

Take that list to your service manager and ask him. It's your only real way of knowing what they're willing to write up for warranty work.

Thanks - I guess I should have phrased the question differently because I know Service Mgrs vary by dealership as to what they will / won't cover. I should have asked..."should" this void my warranty according to GM.

Thanks for the response. It's about what I figured all around.
