Removing Trim Around Stereo

Can anyone who has any experience removing the plastic trim piece around the stereo cluster tell me what was the best tool to pry it back with. I know it is held with clips that are very tight and difficult to get loose, but I was wondering how people pry the piece back far enough to pop the first clip off.

Either a flat head screw driver wrapped in masking tape, or plastic/nylon trim panel removal tools. If you have a Harbor Freight near you, you can pick up some trim tools for $5.

I placed some painters tape on the dash so I wouldn't scratch it if I slipped and used 2 flat top screw drivers: 1 small and one med.

Started top right corner and worked down the right side (4 clips) then top left and worked down (4 clips) Finally the last bottom clip in the middle.

They are pretty tight but they do come out!

Excellent info. Thanks guys. A buddy of mine installed my Bluestar 2010 wifi in the truck and I was not there when he did it. I am having power issues now, and I need to access it to reboot the power.

My local Walmart has a stereo installation toolkit with a trim removal tool. I have a 2010 work truck and I pulled my bezel off by hand pretty easy.

Just a follow up on this if anyone cares. I purchased the dash toolkit from Harbor Freight for $5.00. The tools made all the difference in the world. I had the trim piece off in 30 seconds. Thanks again for the suggestion.
