2yrs old in Aug, 11K miles, I'm very happy with this truck and service from my dealer.

Only issues have been pass door actuator died and replaced under warranty.

Rattle from drivers door going over rough roads. Door pin striker replaced under warranty.

Lint magnet seat covers replaced in Feb 09, and will be again here soon with the updated 2010 covers.

08 LTZ with 50-some-thousand miles so far.

Only one issue, badly fitted turbo-charger tube replaced under warranty.

Otherwise flawless.

I bought this new Sierra thinking that they had really improved on a lot, this thread is scaring me. Am I in for it?

Noobs who make statements like this, I swear.....

Yeah, my truck has been good to me. As long as you take care of your truck it will take care of you. Plus if you think about it you do have a 100,000 mile warranty.

I've got a 2009 with 12k miles.

I currently have an issue with a leaking drivers side door. When it rains hard, my seatbelt gets soaked. I'm trying to wait until I need my oil changed (at 20% now) before I take it in for service.

I also have the squeak right behind my head. Can't figure out exactly where it is and neither can the dealership.

The rear parking sensors are garbage. I guess I was used to the correct way they should work on my 06 F150.

These issues don't really bother me much once I get in and mash the skinny pedal though.

My parking senors are working great, they even worked when I had the whole towing hitch installed.

97K on my 07 fully loaded LTZ and it is the best vehicle I have ever owned.

Sunroof: some wind noise when shut and sun screen open, but quiet when shut. For what it costs, I would probably pass on it. However, the electric rear window slider is cheap and great!

Leather still looks good, no tears or cracks.

No problems of concern other than the ubiquitous drive line clunk, which I just corrected by lubing the splines. A minor oil leak by drain plug, but that was easily corrected by just adding a nylon washer from the local auto parts store. My 07 Corvette had the same plug and same leak and corrected the same way.

No maintenance other than engine oil, trans fluid, and differential oil change and an air filter. OEM tires lasted 86K miles. Still has the original battery!

People are shocked to learn it has so many miles on it as it still looks great.

Only mods are a 3 inch rear drop, Hypertech tune, a Truxedo tonneau cover, and a front air dam lip off a Sierra Hybrid. I routinely get 21 to 23 MPG

Damn and I thought I had a lot of miles on my 2007 V-Max. I have 80,000 miles on it, your truck looks great for having that many miles. You should get a Black Bear Tune instead of Hypertech, how did you achieve the 3 inch rear drop?

All I'm saying is my 03 SS never had any door lock issues or leaks. These trucks are only 3 years old, I wouldn't expect to start seeing these kinds of issues until 7 years in, or 100,000 milles. I'm just surprised. I'm only a "Noob" to the GMT 900. This is my 6th GM truck.

I wouldn't worry about it too much Mike. Besides the couple small issues I listed, including the small leak, I really do like this truck. My gut feeling is that once the service department replaces the gasket, it will be good forever after that. Enjoy your new rig

Been very happy with my LTZ

Upper cladding had known fading problem and was taken care of by my dealer under warranty.

No other issues. Best vehicle I have ever owned, and I loved my '06 GMC Sierra SLT before that!

You're a noob to the site, that's what I was saying.

That, and saying that it's damned foolish to say that because you read a handful of comments on a message board you're now "scared" and feel as though you're doomed to experience a bunch of problems with your new truck because a couple other guys who are talking about issues with their mass produced automobiles dealt with them.

It's vitally important to maintain some perspective and realize that this site is not representative of the experience all, or in several cases even most owners of these trucks are having.

What's with all the leaks?! I just bought a 2010 Sierra All Terrain crew cab 6.2. I sold my 2003 Silverado SS because I couldn't take the interior rattle and lack of passenger room anymore. Truck had no issues ever other than a fuel line rusting out, and the oil cooler lines were weeping (typical), steering clunk (also typical but a quick fix). Other than that, not 1 single leak on an 03 AWD with 74,000k. I bought this new Sierra thinking that they had really improved on a lot, this thread is scaring me. Am I in for it? The problem is, there are no other truck options. Ford sucks in every way inside and out, don't trust Dodge tranny, inside of Tundra looks like the Discovery space shuttle cockpit not to mention those amaaaazing looking tail lights, Nissan titan...what is that a first aid kit that pops out of the rear quarter of the bed?! I only buy GM trucks because they look great inside and out, great fit and finish, nothing gaudy about it, and after owning a 93 S10, 96 S10, 98 Sonoma, 98 Envoy, and 03 Silverado SS I have nothing to complain about.

Agreed about Ford, Dodge, Tundra and Nissian. I love my GM trucks my '95 silverado K1500 350ci has 209,000++ miles (my daily driver and all original. My 2010 Sierra SLT 4WD 5.3L 6speed 3.42 "All-Terrain Pkg" has 1,400 miles zero problems. GMC = God Made Chevy, just kindin.

If I had never used them before I'd probably think they were great. Just don't go out and try them on a late model F150 b/c then you will realize that they aren't. I assume the engineers expect you to use the lights in the back corner of the cab b/c the tone is not consistent.

In the F150, I could use the tone and have complete confidence in how close I was to an object behind me. No lights required.
