My 2007 GMT900 is holding up well with ~37500 miles on it. I had a couple electrical SNAFU's a year or so ago, but they're ok now. That issue drug on (mainly because my dealer wasn't very helpful) but that's the only issue I've had with it.

Zero real complaints with the reliability on mine. A broken door handle and the typical slip yoke clunk are all I can really gripe about from a reliability standpoint.

Here is a point of consideration. There are over 1,000 people on this site right now looking at different threads, and most of the members here are picky and will complain about everything under the sun excluding the size of their member and their inflated gas mileage they get. If these are the biggest things we bitch and moan about, we are all sitting pretty good with these trucks.

2yrs old in Aug, 11K miles, I'm very happy with this truck and service from my dealer.

Only issues have been pass door actuator died and replaced under warranty.

Rattle from drivers door going over rough roads. Door pin striker replaced under warranty.

Lint magnet seat covers replaced in Feb 09, and will be again here soon with the updated 2010 covers.

did you have to come out of the pocket or did your dealer replace the covers?

2008 GMC Sierra SLE 4x4 5.3l V8 with 28K

BREAKS, BREAKS, BREAKS,

My biggest issue are with the breaks! They were gone (front and rear) at 19k and always shuttered when applied. I figured cheap break pads or warped rotors, so I had Midas replace both sets of pads. I know what your thinking but they showed me the pads. This was in OCT 09, in Feb 10 with only 2k since the break job we went to Big Bear play in the snow. Just us and the dog, NO trailer, no towing just us. Coming down the mountain (not driving crazy, not using the breaks excessively) about half way down my petal gets soft. So I pull over and my front disk are just about glowing & smoke is coming from the front drivers side breaks. So I want for them to cool down and back to Midas.

Log story shot I ended up replacing the front routers and they re-did the front breaks and flushed the break fluid. Now she stops like a champ. The guy at Midas did say the front break boot did melt a bit but the dealer said it wasn't anything to worry about.

My passenger side power lock went out and they replaced 3-4 locks. I asked them to replace all 4 since it was in.

I also have the ruff idle

Other than that PITA it's been a great truck. But I was pissed for a while.

Almost 13k and I suppose it's holding up fairly well. I think (or hope) it got most of it's mechanical issues out of the way around 4-6k with the smoke/lifter issue and other minor stuff.

There have been several creaks and rattles around the cabin though. Back seat, dash, doors, etc. Dealer has surprisingly fixed a LOT of the noises, but there are still a few annoying ones hanging around that they haven't been able to track down yet.

GM still has a ways to go in fixing build quality and materials. Overall, still a good truck.

Hoping to get this thread back ruining again. I took my 08 NNBS Silverado 1500 Ext cab 4x4 into the dealer for the drive train clucking noise at 1 year old in Fall 09. It had been doing it since about 90 days new. They lubricated the splines as per a TSB. The noise went away for 4 weeks and slowly came back. I said nothing as I didn't see how going back everytime for a spline lube was going to do anything for me.

In Sping 2010 my transfer case blew while I was going back from a 300 mile towing trip. Onstar called a tow truck that could flatbed by truck and tow the trailer. Truck tow was free, I paid $125 for the trailer tow to the tow company.I was happy about that part because a diaster multi-tornado strike hit the Cabelas in Dundee Michigan that very night and took out all the trailers parked ini the RV lot where I had held up waiting for the tow truck. I know understand another TSB says don't lube the splines on a 4x4 or the transfer case will blow out?

Now in Fall 2011 I have almost 40K, and the tires look like I will get 45k out of them (good for the good year 20"). The 4 speed trans I have in the extended cab with 3.73 geared 5.3L is just starting to make a 1500-1800 rpm whine when under 120degree trans temp and you are going up a hill, or pulling over a curb etc.

My Cruise control wont activate unless I pull up on the brake pedal, but my stop lights work ok. I need to replace the stop light switch this weekend to fix it.

I get 13-14mpg in town, 15-18mpg highway @ 65-70, 17--19 @60mph

If towing I get 9-10mpg @65-70mph, and 11-12mpg @55-60mph

I like my truck, I have the desert brown paint and light tan cloth. Yes the cloth picks up any lint from any other cloth items you put on it. I want to keep this truck another 10-15 years, and will put those Cali-Wet seat covers on it someday soon.

My previous 2007 Vmax 53,000 miles had the drivers door window squeak, dealer fixed, the rear main seal went (twice)... but the second time was dealer error. That was the only service done on that truck.

My current 2011 with 15,000 mile has Zero issues..

I'd say they are pretty good. :dunno:

There is a revised brake light switch that fixes a know issue with the 07 and 08 brake lights / cruise engagement problems. Cost me 15 buck from the dealer and was able to install in the parking lot without tools. In my case, I could apply the brakes, and any slight release of pressure would turn off the lights. I could literally sit at a red light with no brake lights on.

I have just over 30k now and have had only one issue on the truck. The purge solenoid valve and related system components have been replaced multiple times to no avail. I have been out of the country for an extended period and my wife has had no problems. My warranty is up in December, but my dealer has told me that they will do whatever it takes to keep making it right free of charge. They have already done two valves, two gas caps, and even a gas tank.

The truck has been garaged for over a year and my wife drives it once a week to church unless the weather is bad. The leather still looks and smells new and I have had no electrical issues with interior stuff or lights.

I added a leveling kit when I first got it and have yet (knock on wood) to have ball joint problems.

As for mileage - ehhh it's a truck and I didn't buy it to get awesome gas mileage.

The original tires are shot and I will be replacing them when I get home next month.

I plan to keep this truck until it blows up around me.
