More Mods (56k Go Away)

Got a few more mods done, hopefully almost done, but you guys know how that goes  I still want a white grille from a Z71 Tahoe or Burb, leveled in the rear, a chrome rear bumper (that's not tilted down :uhoh: ), 18" Z71 wheels, maybe some headlight covers...

Anyways, I did a black bowtie I got from ebay. It's made of powdercoated 6061 T-6 billet aluminum and is held on with threaded rod and nuts as compared to the factory's plastic emblem held on with clips.

I know my valence is messed up, not sure how to fix it, it came like that

35% side and rear window tint

My favorite mod...cause it was free  Antenna relocation. I didn't lose any noticeable reception, and there was already a piece there I used as a retainer.

Factory tails that were professionally smoked

I plan to get rid of the toolbox to a) clean up the looks and b) so I don't have to scrub rust stains off the side of the truck

When it comes time to buy tires I usually find a used set of wheels and tires until I find wheels that I like (haven't found them yet). So I usually run whatever tires came on the wheels.

looks like a good start! doesn't look like you have a hitch, and if you're not planning on towing anything you might think about getting a roll pan. you can sell the stock rear bumper to a junk yard and just about come out even on that deal.

drop the tool box, add in color matched handles (both door and tailgate), that grille you're thinking of, and paint the front bumper cap and the whole look of the truck will be transformed.

Keep up the good work!

By cap, you mean the chrome portion of the front bumper? I definitely like the idea! I do tow once every blue moon, so I need to keep the bumper. I thought the black handles were all right as they matched all the other black stuff on the truck, although I'd consider white ones if they were cheap.

Although what would really change the look is if you gave me your wheels and tires..

i just noticed your mileage 300k..wow lol i'd get a receiver put on, i thought you had a 4.3 so i diden't mention anything about towing kinda things, but the 4.8 is a stout motor...

Nope, I'm talking about the black plastic pad on top of the chrome on the front bumper

here are the door handles $130 shipped

here is the tailgate handle $92 shipped (that's outragous!)

if you don't mind losing the passenger side key-hole, you can get a set of Escalade handles like mine WITH a tailgate handle for about $130 shipped.

go to www.gmpartsdirect.com and enter in part number 17801132

good try! I looked on ebay and craigslist for 2 years to find these wheels at a good price. don't think I'll be letting them go

Well it was worth a shot...those 20" tires would probably hurt the ole wallet anyways.

As much as I'd like the Escalade handles, I need the passenger side keyhole as I don't have power locks.

Thanks for the bumper painting idea, I will definitely consider it. The TBSS and other sport model trucks have no chrome, just painted. I like that look so I'll look into it. Thanks again!

Looks good. I would paint the grill white....... the black bow tie would be set off with the contrast from white to black. And it is a long wheel base the tool box is required to break up the length (at least in my opinion)...... Does the valance have a bend in it or just out of adjustment? If just out of adjustment sand smooth as the cap and paint them white tooooo.

BUT DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE RUST from the tool box..... Kinda clashes on the white paint when it runs down the side..

Just my two or three cents.....
