I'm pretty sure I don't have a Bose system. But wanna make sure before I go buy all the adapters to wire an amp.

I've heard that if you have five preset on your eq, then you have a Bose system.

When I hit the EQ button, I have 5 preset (Pop, Rock, Ctry, Talk, Jazz, and Clas)

So do I have a Bose?

I thought all Bose system came with a sub in the center console? I don't have a console, two bucket seats and a center seat with compartment.

Help Please!!

Now I'm confused... I have the Bose sound system but I only have 2 presets on EQ: TALK and MANUAL

Anyone got some insight? Why do I only have 2 presets? Can this be changed? If so, how?

I have the same 5 presets with no Bose system...

Does your radio or the tweeters in the A-piller say Bose on them?

Doesn't say Bose on anything, including the A-piller tweets. That's why I assumed I never had a Bose system.

If it doesn't say Bose anywhere, you don't have Bose.

Same here, but since I always use manual anyway, I really don't care.

The Bose system like the Bose that is available in the Silverado's is indead Bose with the two presets(TALK and MANUAL) but it is not the Bose Lux system.

The Bose lux system uses a different amplifier and headunit and a completely different method of operation. The Presets on the Bose Lux radio (at least for the 2009 model year) are, "NORMAL,"SURROUND, "DRIVER" and "REAR" I believe the Pop,Rock,Talk,Jazz, etc presets are on the non Bose Radio.

You can only get the Bose Lux system in some of the large SUV's, Denali's and all the Caddy's.

Then it isn't BOSE.

Bose is all about image (and very little about performance)

Best thing I have read all day. Although it is better then the non-bose. All it really does though is add a sub in the center console.

The Bose speaker system in these new GMT900 trucks includes; 4 bose speakers (one in each dooor), 2 tweeters and interface within the radio. Thats all the option includes, I called GM/GMC and thats what they told me. I have Bose in my 2010 Sierra 4WD All-Terrain and in has "Bose" written on the tweeters and I only have two selections in the EQ. If you have an EQ with Rock, Country, Jazz and etc you DO NOT HAVE BOSE. Thought I would get things corrected, anyhow hope you guys are enjoying your trucks, I sure am!!!

Correct. GMT900 pickups do not have any subs in them whatsoever with any factory audio system. I don't think the SUVs do either, the only exceptions possibly being the YD and the Escalade.

The Silverado GMT 900 has a 6.5" sub in the bottom front of the console. I know for a fact it is there. I had it out when working on the console. It's not much of of sub but is is a dual coil 6.5" down firing sub in an enclousure. This is for sure if you have any of the Bose system.

I have a 2010 Sierra with no Bose. Should I be jelous...or should I upgrade to aftermarket speakers (hertz) and call it good? What will have better sound?

If the Sierra is anywhere near as crappy in sound quality as the 08 silverados you will see a HUGE difference.

My '07 c/w Bose also has a sub, albiet not great, it does work! If you pull out the center console cup holder/cd tray there is a 4 pin connector on the passenger side below the cup holder. This is the active sub connector from the amp to the dual voice coil sub speaker. Turn your stereo on and unplug this connector... you'll see (ahhm..hear!) the difference.
