What Hid's To Get

Recommended Posts

Hey guys as the title suggests, I want to know who has them, what brand you have and how satisfied you are with them. I want to replace the low beam and fog lights for now, and maybe later put in the highs.

you should checkout ddmtuning.com. i purchased mine from there and they are hella cheap and really good hids! i also got them for my fog lights from there and they look great too!

got a set on ebay a few years ago on ebay that included a projector housing. i also just bought a set of bulbs and ballast for my quad on ebay. that was 40 bucks and would be all you need if you dont plan on changing your housing. the ones for the quad are xentec brand.

I personally have DDM Tuning 5000K 35w HID's in my low beams, and I really like them, they are super bright, and seem to be pretty good quality. What temp and wattage do you plan to go with, and are you going to use a relay harness? If you do some searching, they have a very good reputation, and like Steven said, they are very reasonably priced. Here's a link [/url ]to the thread I created.

If you have any other questions holler.

I see no point in putting high beam hids in trucks, i have hids in my lows and fogs, but high beams are only used for dark nights on empty roads, a set of really good halogens gets the job done good enough and also if your switching the high beams on and off, aka if cars are coming at you, its not good for the ballasts

SpencersHIDs. I think he is doing a special right now too. Check him out at Gmfullsize. I got his kit and they rock. Just reinstall in my new truck today.

what is the HID harness and error eliminator they offer on DDM site?

the wiring harness is only needed if your vehicle oem wiring is unable to give enough ampage to the ballast i believe. usually if you get the slim ballast, its a digital ballast so you need less amps to start it up. its usually unnecessary for newer vehicles. and the error code eliminator does basically what its called, and its only needed in some vehicle. i believe you wont need one for most gm vehicles.

Anyone had Rikensport's? I know Jenna did from Blackbear and I emailed the guy and their warranty seems really good, even covered the bulbs for life. Just wondering if many are running them?

Wow, didn't think I would get this many replies this quick. I will check them out and thanks guys. Also like fariolib said, there is a big price difference. Is there any quality difference between the two? One have a longer life than the other? Are they both plug and play?

Now what is the relay harness for exactly?
