Question About Ready Lift Leveling Kit Gmt900

I'm thinking of adding the ReadyLift 2.5" leveling kit and their 3" block for the rear.

My question is... will the back end be raked slightly with this combo?

Is 2.5" front leveling okay for suspension components or is their 1.5" leveling kit much better on suspension components?

The reason I'm choosing ReadyLift is because it's easy to purchase here in Canada from a local shop and some friends have their kits on older trucks without any issues.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks!

the 1.5" kit is much better for your steering components and ride quality.

plenty of threads on this subject already.... so i have only one thing to add; Post pics when you're done! :happysad:

Just like what Matt said before, the 1.5 would better on your steering and suspension components. However, if I was only going to do 1.5, I wouldn't even mess with it. I have the setup you are taking about except I have the ccm 2.5 and 3" blocks in the rear. You will have about 1" of rake that isn't really that noticable. I have had a leveling kit for close to 30,000 miles with no problems what so ever. I'm sure they will wear out the front end quicker, but who knows how much quicker? Balljoints go out at 100,000 instead of 140,000? Who knows? Didn't bother me because I haven't kept a truck for more than 60,000 miles in 10 years and Ive had 6 different ones. So I didn't even consider it.

Looks real good!

I actually prefer the rake and wouldn't like it if it was totally even.

Thanks alot for yours and Matt's help.

I actually love the stance of his truck as well.

Yeah, I like his truck too. A little to much rake for me, but still looks good. I think he just has a 3" Body lift, and nothing up front or back. I have the zone 1.5 in my garage I will be adding this summer when I get a chance for around 4" of lift. Good luck with the mods.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered the ReadyLift 2.25" leveling kit and the 3" block for the rear.

I just noticed that I kept saying that it was a 2.5" leveling kit in my previous posts above but it's infact a 2.25" kit which I assume everyone knows anyways.

I have the RL 2.25" front leveling and 2" rear block set sitting in my garage. Just waiting on some time to install them and get it to an alignment shop on the same day. Been difficult finding any free time lately.

Where did you get your leveling kit and block? Did you get new tires after that? Looks good.

I have a Readylift leveling kit on my truck originally and it totally leveled out the truck, I then added BD lift blocks to the rear to get the rake back. If you look at the pics of my Truck this is the 2.5" level with 3" rear block.

Leveling kit = Internet (search for CCM leveling kit)

Blocks = Offroad shop (I think they are ready lift)

Tires are still toyo open country 285/60/18 (basically 32"). I have nitto grapplers in the garage 285/65/18 (about a 33"). Just waiting till I install the zone 1.5" body lift that is setting in the garage.

So I had some time yesterday and was going to install the RL leveling kit on my '07 GMT900 Silverado Z71. I could not get the spindle to release the ball joint seating. I tapped with a small hammer. Got a bigger hammer. Even tapped with a 3# sledge. It wouldn't release. Anyone have any tricks to share to release the spindle?

    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
