98 Vortech 4x4 Oil Spill

I have an oil leak on my 98 vortec k1500. The oil appears to be above the oil pan and right behind a sensor under the flywheel (?). I have replaced the oil pan gasket thinking it was the oil pan--it wasn't. I did at one point have an oil spill coming out of the oil filter gasket, that was fixed.

Not long ago i replaced the intake manifold gasket, along with many gaskets in the way to get there. I recently used an oil dye by tracer to find out where the oil leak was coming from. Well, when I came back to inspect it (cus I was told to run the engine for about 5 minutes, maybe I should have not "driven" the engine for 5 minutes) the oil "dye" was basically behind the oil tube part# 12551357 and all the way down above the oil pan near that sensor (might be the crankshaft sensor?? I can't find it in my mechanic book).

Anyways, my kit only came with 1oz of dye so now im out. So I don't know what to do. I just bought a new house and it's leaking all over the driveway and it's too big to fit in my two door garage. Should I just replace the oil tube for now and then run another dye test? If that fails what should I look at from there? Any ideas would be appreciates. Thanks guys!

first of all, welcome to GM-Trucks. I hope you enjoy your time here. If you have time, take a moment to do an introduction thread.

Anyway, I used to have a 1997 with a vortech motor in it. It was hard to find a leak with as many things that leaked under that thing. One possible leak spot that comes to mind would be a rear main seal. The seal would be in the area that you are explaining.

Good luck, hope you get it figured out.

Check the oil pressure sensor. It is on the top rear of the engine to the left of the distributor. Also could be the rear of the intake manifold where the factory uses RTV sealant instead of a gasket.
