RaddHazzard Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 My wheels are 17x9. Now i thought a ten inch wide tire is about as wide as you want to go with a nine inch wide rim. I was reading Petersons OffRoad magazine and the part where readers send in pics and stats of their rides made me question this. Some guy in an Explorer had my same wheels and wrote he had 12.5inch wide tires. I would love a wider tire next time around. I now have 285 70 17 which are about ten inches wide i think. I would like to go 33x12 or something. Is this do-able?
brad519 Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Yes you can run a 12" tire with a 9" wheel. I run 35x12.5 on a 18x9. You can check the tire manufacture's web site and it will show you recommended wheel size for each tire. But a 12" is fine with a 9" wheel.
brad519 Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 It still install the body lift for the CDI factor My bad wrong thread. LOL
