Security Light On When Driving

Truck is a 00 Sierra Z71....

 

I was driving the truck today and "Security" appeared on the info center. It stayed on until I got home. I started it right back up and now it's off. At the same time that light came on, my Scangauge shut off. I got it to come back on but it wouldn't reconnect with the computer. It started to work fine also after I shut the truck down and restarted. Seems to me like the two are related......

 

 

 

Any ideas? I also had problems with the "security" light coming on in my wife's old 93 and 99 Lesabres and it would cause it to not start so I'm worried this may happen with the truck soon.
