Brush Guard And Body Lift?

I have a 09 Silverado currently with a 2.5 leveling kit on it. Im looking to go higher with it and am debating the zone 1.5 or 3'' BL. I currently have a TrailFX brush guard on it and if I get a BL will I have to take it off or modify it in any way to install a BL.

 

And another question i have with taking the truck a little higher is what tires to go with. I have the factory 20" rims and dont mind keeping them. But what size tire can i go up to without rubbing. I live where it snows and the Goodyear Eagle LS-2s from the factory are not the best in snow

I'm almost positive you cannot use the grill guard unless it is mounted where the tow hooks are

 

for your tire issue, you can get 305-55-20s, but you will be paying a pretty penny. Also, you can get 305-50-20s. Those aren't the only choices for tire sizes, but the most common I believe. You could always get 305-50-20s with a 1.5 inch body lift, and I think that would look pretty good.

Yes it is mounted through the tow hook area because a little bit of plastic next to the hooks had to be notched out and then it goes down by that front lip at the bottom of the bumper. Ill have to check to see if it just stops at the bottom of the bumper or if it mounts to something down there also.

I think it should be fine then. It doesn't appear to be mounted anywhere else besides the tow hook area

You can use it, but you will have to come up with some way of adjusting its height. Keep in mind that your frame (tow hook mounts) will remain in its stock location, while you move the body (bumper and all) up 3" inches. That will leave your brush guard, if the light grilles will even clear the bumper caps, riding 3" lower than it is now.

Yes thats true. I didnt think about it that way. Looks like if i want to go higher its going to have to be a suspension lift then.
