It is a 1" tweeter.  It is kinda hard to find an exact replacement for it's mount.  I just drilled the driver out of the mounting plate and epoxied the 1" tweeter from a component set in it.

Unless you are going with a high grade component set, it is hard to beat the factory tweeter.(IMHO)

Bought a piece of abs plastic and made a replacement mount for the tweeter. Traced the factory outside, hole saw for the Polk tweeter, and used a piece of straping and the included Polk mounts. Works perfectly and can't even tell even when looking very close at them. Basically sandwiched the whole assembly to the door. The Polk tweets came with cross-overs that I connected to speaker harnesses from Circuit City for a plug in connection. Did the same for a set of Polk 6.5 coaxle's in the door but added bass blockers. Very bright and clean. Using a single 10" MTX under the rear seat in a Q-Logic box.

I bought some Alpine componenets for the front, for the tweeter I just drilled a hole where the old mount was and used a long peice of metal behind it... Sounds weird but worked really good - I thought the front speakers (including the tweeter) were crap, made out of paper...

I saw a graph of the freq. response from a local stereo shop of the factory system.  To rephrase the statement about the tweeter, "Above 800hz, the frequency response was smooth up to about 16khz(can you hear that high?).   Sensitivity was also good at 91dB when connected to a test signal of 1w.  Your mileage may vary."

Humans can hear up to 20 khz.
