02 Silverado 5.3l A/c Problem

Two years ago I brought my truck into local shop because the A/C would only output cool air. I only use it when temps top 90 degrees, which is seldom. They added some leak detector, oil, and refilled the system with freon. After it was filled, they used a sniffer to try and locate the leak, but didn't find anything. So, I drove it for almost two years and it was fine. Last week I turned it on, only to experience the same problem I had originally. I'm assuming there is a leak somewhere in the system. Any sugesstions on what to look for?

Sounds like you definitely have a very slow leak. In cases like this where the leak is so small even a sniffer can't find it (assuming a thorough check was done), and after dye is installed, you typically need to use the A/C system for a few weeks, then return to the mechanic to have him then look for signs of leaking dye with his UV light. You might still be able to do this. If no signs of dye can be found, then the leak may be in a non visible location like the evaporator inside the dash. Good luck.
