91 CHEV 350 MODS?

Recommended Posts

I have a 91 chev 4x4 with a 350 and a a4, I have already did the k and  n filter , removed the noise surpresser? in the air intake between the air cleaner and the fender, and the cat is removed. So I am looking to everybodys experience to see what the next mods should be for the best bang for the buck.

thanks

Looking for the same answers here.

I have heard that the new Vortec heads will really wake these up along with the roller cam and lifter out of the Vortec.

Any other info on doing these swaps would be great.

I used a big open element round K&N in the summer on my old '91, and it really seemed to make a difference.  It took forever to warm up in the winter (because of not having that little heat transfer tube coming off the exhaust manifold), so I used the stock set up in the colder months fit a K&N and the noise suppressor removed also.  Your talking about that hour-glass shaped tube inside that box near the fender, right?  That's what I called it.

You may want to try a performance chip.  I think they are relatively inexpensive, but don't really know how much of a gain they provide.  I had wanted to put one in my '91, but never go around to it, along with a few other things.  ???

I miss that truck a lot.

I've done the element, open air ways, chip, tbi, spacer and injector spacer, 160 stat, open from manifolds back, low restricted exh. 2.5" pipes. Still not what up to snuff....

Any more suggestions?????

You can run open headers, but if you can't get the air INTO the cylinders, it does no good.....Do the heads. You should be pleased.

If you are still not happy, then a cam might be a good idea.

After that.....Supercharge it.
