Tow Mirrors -problem With Install

I just bought a 2010 Sierra 2500 HD. This is a work truck. I wanted the tow mirrors installed so I prepaid for the mirrors and the installation in the loan. A couple days after the purchase I brought the truck in. When I was called in to get the truck, I was told the mechanic was unable to hook up the heater for the mirror because my truck was not designed for those mirrors, even though he took off the door in the process. The mirror is part #19211738.

 

What I want to know is if there is any way to hook up these mirrors to operate the designed functions, and also, if not, is there a plain tow mirror that is designed for a work truck, or do they all have wiring?

There is a plain towing mirror. The rpo code for them is DF2. As for the part number, I am not sure.

On a WT build they would not have pre wired the wires for heated mirrors and power mirrors. They do however include a wire harness for 5th wheel on basically all the trucks. I discovered mine tucked up and taped up under the bed. I always liked the stick on blind spot mirrors which I use on some of our vehicles, but they would have their limitations depending on the size trailer your towing.

When I changed mine out, I didn't realize the mirrors had the defrost function. The ones I took off didn't and this past winter found out the new towing mirrors defrosted. It was activated when I hit the rear window defrost. The truck was wired for it, just needed the right mirror plugged in.
