6.2l Intake Tube

I've always added a CAI on my trucks but with this one I would really just like to add a new intake tube such as what AIRAID makes and keep my stock air box and continue to use the AC Delco filters. But I've searched the net high and low and it appears no one makes just the intake tube to replace the OEM one. I called airaid and the guy I talked to said he figured they would be making one for the new 6.2L. Which he wasn't much help I asked if he knew for sure and when they might start selling them and I really didn't get an answer from him. Airaid does have this set up now called U-Build-It:

No sure if it would work since the MAF has been changed on the 2010 I believe...I guess I'll half to make another call to them on it.So I wanted to see if anyone else knows if another company makes just the intake tube you can purchase. Or I might already know my answer which is NO since that's all I can find. Thanks for any help sent my way

God Bless

You will have to let us know if you get that and how well it works, looks like it would to me.

Looks liek a cool idea. I wonder how much $ it will be. I have an '09 with the new style MAF too and would be interested in making a tube from the MAF to the throttle body witout all the factory baffles. Please let us know if you go with it and how it works (with pics!)

No typo, 2009, the MAF sensor is built into the tube.

just looked at my 09, and the MAF, yes, it is built in, but it is in the same location as the 08..??

Can you think of a reason why the airraid engineers didnt make one for 09 and up,..or maybe they havent got there yet?

The only way that will work is with a little cutting. There are some people here that have cut the section out of the box and put it inline with their old intakes and say that it works fine, maybe someone will chime in with a picture but thats the 08- MAF.

im still toying with the idea of blocking off the resonating tubes on the stock one,..or seeing if I can find a junkyard one to hack up.

I was thinking about that too. It looks like the one on the bottom and the one toward the front near the radiator are baffles/resonators. I think the long piece going rear above the intake manifold is more for heating up the incoming air, but I could be wrong.

I know the MAF on the 09-10 models is very sensitive, so I am not sure if it will mess up the MAF like the Volant intake I had on it did.

Be sure to post if you do attempt this mod!

yes maff can be very sensitive! If it is not put in the same location it was on factory tune it can act up.
