Battery Disconnect

if i get my battery changed at a non dealer, am i gonna have issues with the comoputer and the AC?

 

i dont think i want to get another ac delco with only 600 cca, id rather get an interstate or something with 800cca

 

what are my alternatives and choices , thanks alot

You shouldn't. I've changed batteries in my '02 YukonXL when I had it with no issues at all.

Just get one of these and plug it in the cigrette lighter when the battery is disconnect. It saves all the settings. I got one at Walmart for 5 bucks...

And as batteries go.. You can get a higher cranking amp AC Delco. The problem with AC Delco is the cost. Autozone has a good battery, Duralast gold with a much better warranty and I believe its made by Johnson Controls.

rather than goto the dealer and get an acdelco

 

tho... i have 45000 miles and never really done any service besides oil changes...the truck drives fine...whats good to get done???

As they say down south...Ifin it was my truck the trans and diff fluid would get changed.

 

And whether you will have trouble..some do, some don't. You don't know what you look like till you have had your picture taken...

Just buy whatever brand of battery you want !

Most are made by the one of FOUR battery mfrs. left.

 

Just make sure you buy the battery with the SAME

cranking capacity, cold cranking amps etc.

 

You may lose the radio memory or DIC settings so

just reset them and let the truck relearn and you will be

ok.

 

The dealer put a new Delco battery in my 07 under warranty

with no issues.

hmm, well i just back from putting in the mt 78 700cca interstate megatron

 

i never asked the dealer if the battery would have been covered, i have extended warrenty ....

 

they wanted 240 for the stock delco
