Oil Change

please help...i am new to this forum and have a dumb question...i have an 03 2500 and wanted to change the oil today. i just got out from under the truck after finding the filter but the drain plug [i think] looks like it has never been removed. am i wrong? thank u in advance

Why do you believe it never has been removed?

 

You need to make sure you're looking at the actual drain plug on the pan and not another bolt or plug

 

It should be on the rear of the pan at the bottom edge. Points straight towards the rear. Probably like a 15mm head on it

You need to make sure you're looking at the actual drain plug on the pan and not another bolt or plug

 

 

well it looks like the drain plug as it is sloped or whatever. it is located in front of the tranny pan. i thought maybe with the oil cooler there might be another way

yes i do.....but the bolt is the same color as the pan and seriously does not look like it has been touched...thx for your help
