Ok my tonneau cover and truck are covered with dried tree sap, which is basically white blotches. I have tried the tar and bug removers but they wont even touch it. Any suggestions.

If the tree sap feels like a bump on the paint finish then I'd clay bar, and wax your tonneau cover. Make sure to wax it after you clay bar it otherwise there is nothing to protect the clear coat.

I would usually use a little nail polsih remover if it were on paint but I m not sure about the cover???? Maybe you can do a test spot on the under side edge.

Rubbing alcohol, it works great and does not hurt a thing. I learned this on the rv forums and and have done it many time on everything from the rubber roofs on campers, to the awning, fiberglass, paint on truck, etc. I have never used anything that worked better and I have tried lots of things. This works even when the pitch is all dried up. Try it.
