Bra For Nbs Silverado

Recommended Posts

I have another long trip to do, and I really wish the first time I went across the country I would have purchased a bra cover for the front. Ive found the kits on ebay, cant find any pics of what the thing is going to look like...If anyone has a pic of a front bra for a NBS that would help.

My local tint place also does 3M Clearbra. They quoted me a price of @250 for my front end. Expel has a similiar product. Think of it as a clear tint that is thick enough mills to prevent rock chips, bug scars, etc. Can be waxed like paint. My last car had it and looked great (invisible)and kept the front end looking new.

I did a "Clear bra" on mine at home. I was going to suggest this to the OP, but I figured he was looking for a real bra for some reason. Maybe worried about the headlights/grill/bumper also.

Anyway, I picked up 2 rolls, 12 feet long 5 feet wide each. I did the hood, fronts of the fenders, over the 4x4 stickers on the bed, and the small area of tailgate next to the spoiler. I still had probably 3-4 feet left (never measured, but a good bit) of the first roll. Never touched the second. I had a helping hand, experience doing window tint and body work, a blow drier, plastic razor blade (came with the rolls), and a bottle of water/shampoo mix. It was a PITA. If I actually had spare money, I would pay someone to do my rockers and bottom of the doors in a HEARTBEAT so I wouldn't have to. But, if I didn't have the money, I would do it so they are protected. It was a PITA, but not horrible, and the benefits outweigh the burned hands. Does a good job of protecting the hood, doesn't look hideous, doesn't change the areodynamics, but it also doesn't protect as well from dents and doesn't protect the headlights or bumpers at all. It's all a trade off I guess.

I got them from Truckin' America, but I am not sure how common they are all over the country.
