A 305/70 is a tall tire. Something like 33-34" IIRC.

[email protected] Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 no help??? come on guys i really need some insight. looking to have this done here in the next two weeks or so. I'm sorry, I've never put mud tires on any of my pickups.
mxdirtrider56 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 If your only going to install a leveling kit I would say no. They might "fit" but it won't be a good fit. They will probably rub alot. Especially considering they are on aftermarket wheels. I know every truck is different but I know of multiple people that have 285/70/17 mud tires on AFTERMARKET wheels along with their T-bars cranked and there is rubbing. Mostly just in reverse at full lock. I would say your best bet is to stick with a 285 unless you want to do alot of trimming...just my .02
06z71CC Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 so you say 33.8 is to big but 33s with a leveling kit should be fine?
Matt_ Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 your truck is going to ride like a dump truck with the torsion bars cranked up 2.5". keep it under 2" and go with 285/70/17s. Or throw on a 2" body lift on top of 1.5-2" crank (leveling kit) to run the 305s.... thatd be a good combo
06z71CC Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 I went with 33 12.5 17s. and imma get the rough country leveling kit.
blackout07 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I ran 305/55/20's on my 03 1500 HD with aftermarket 20x9's. With a 2" crank and some "fender massaging" I ran them fairly comfortably but they still rubbed every now and then. Keep in mind the HD's sit 2-3 inches higher than the standard half ton.

Quality leveling kit and 285's are your best bet. If you want bigger tires than that just do a BL or full suspension lift.
