6000k Or 8000k Hid's

in my 2010 silverado! i am getting all 3 fogs, highs and lows

6k would be brighter but not as blue looking.

Then go for an 8000 55w, but a 6000 will be brighter.

55 is a much better choice, more power =more light and that's good.

My friends has 35w 8000k and my brights cant even come close to his dims hell or even his fog lights. Should be good enough

i wouldnt even worry about the highs unless you are the only one on the road in the middle of no where a lot. they take time to boot up and if you are constantly flipping them on and off then its bad for them.

Thats what i want brights for on late night back roads. Also the lows stay on when i got to brights and im going to make the fogs stay on with brights

I may hold off oc the brights for now and get some for the camaro

Dont do all 3 highs lows and fogs only do 2 if you put the hids in your highs you can not do flash to pass. I was going to do all 3 and was advised not to from DDM. As for the higs go get some hipros on ebay there very bright even though there 5900K.

in my whole life i dont think ive ever flashed to pass lol, only time i flash is if someone has their brights on.

I had 6000k low and fog on my '03 Silverado and I now have 5000k in the low and fog of my '09 Sierra.

 

I'm much happier with the 5000k, I don't care for the blue tint, 6000k have a slight blue tint, my 5000k are just plain white.

 

High beams are not the best for high beams, they take a little time to warm up so it's not as effective, personally I'd say swap high beams to some Silverstar bulbs.

 

My driving involves a lot of open highway driving at night and some back gravel roads going in to the deer camp, I am setup for maximum performance, fancy colors don't tempt me.

Im going 6k. With the lows staying on when you turn on the brights on these trucks and its no big deal if it takes a few sec to come up. Ill get them just to have when it late and no one else is on the roads and to keep an eye out for deer or other.
