Advice? Some Opinions? Gmc Crew Cab

Got a line on a 2010 White diamond GMC SLT crew cab 1500 fully loaded out of town, everything I'm looking for brand new, exact truck that I would order. Right now GMC deals in Canada are pretty good I have to say. I have a 2008 Silverado fully loaded except navi, they are willing to give 25-26k. Living in Canada we get nailed on the taxes and the trade in value helps reduce that, you take a beating but, gain on the other end and don't have the hassle of selling privately. So I went to a local dealer to compare prices, they would only give me $23k . Keeping everyone honest. They could not get the truck I wanted but could order a 2011. The price difference is @ 4000 difference, but couldn't guarantee the trade in value in 3-4 months from now. Well should I bite the bullet on the 2010, or pay the extra on the 2011. They are motivated out of town and said come up with a price we'll work with you. Are their any differences from the 2010- 11? Depreciation wise you loose because the 2010 is already a year old basically. Its got everything I want now. Well whats everyone think any opinions on what i should do?

That's totally up to you, they would be basicly the same. I, myself would probably get the 2011, though, so I could order it EXACTLY how I wanted it. And it should be worth more later than a 2010 considering it's newer.

You didn't say how many miles you have on your 2008, but it appears that GM has downgraded their 5yr/100k warranty so this may be some food for thought. Good luck.

It has 48k, km @29k for miles, thanks for replies. Wanted that diamond white when i bought mine but it wasn't available. My warranty is up next april, so undecided what to do. Anyways you look at it, the longer I wait the more I loose as far as my truck is concerned. Or do I wait for the 2012's to see if the body style changes?

I here ya, and they seem to be coming up with something new every year that catches your eye, so you can upgrade and loose more $$$$$$$$$$$$.

I'd keep what you have until the new body styles come out. You have already absorbed the worst of the depreciation hit on your '08 anyway. Why start all over again on a '10 or '11 when they are basically the same truck?
