Gmt900 - What Do I Need To Fit 285/55/20?

i'm consdiering 285/55/20 nitto terra grapplers which measure 32.28" O.D. x 11.73" wide. for reference my current OEM LS2's measure 31.9" O.D. x 11.2" wide. i'd like to fit these on with minimal modification and money spent. in my opinion a 1" level would look ideal, with just the right amount of rake left. if i need anything more than a 1" level to clear these, i'd also want to add taller blocks in the rear so the net level is 1". i don't want to trim metal but i'm fine with trimming plastic. i'm considering the zone 1.5" BL as well but i'd prefer a leveling kit to get the job done. any members here with 285/55/20 tires? think a 1" level is enough? any help is appreciated.

 

 

FYI - i've done some searching, most threads which discuss this tire size are in conjunction with a 2" leveling kit. this thread however discusses 285/55/20's with no leveling kit and apparently they rub.

i ran that tire size on my 4/7 dropped 07 NNBS and only rubbed on a sharp turn or bottomed out on a huge bump. Stock height should be fine or leveled out IMO

i appreciate the feedback slammeddually. and color me impressed and in disbelief that you fit these tires on with a 4/7 drop! i'm looking for no rubbing. when it's all said and done, i'd like the same amount of rubbing (or lack there of) as it currently sits in stock form.

Slap a 2" Rough Country Leveling kit in there for about $60 and call it done

i agree a 2" level should work just fine, but if possible i'd like to not mess with swapping the blocks in the rear. 1" net level is what i'm after.
