Camping Trip

Went camping this past week and I hauled my parents 28' pontoon boat up to the mountains for the trip. I took some pics of it all hooked up before the trip home. The boat is a 28' bennington tri-toon with a weight of about 4,000 lbs unloaded not including the trailer. Had the bed loaded (not fully) with the rest of the firewood from the trip too. My truck pulls this boat great. Even on the mountain roads with some pretty steep grades it does a fine job, just gotta make sure not to let the engine lug before some of those grades. Doesn't pull like my Dad's Dmax though! He pulls the 35' camper that weighs 8000lbs unloaded and you wouldn't even know it was back there. Anyways, I figured I'd post a few pics just for fun.

I'd love to get a pontoon boat. I'm considering selling my camper and getting one if I can find one at a reasonable price. Were I live now, there isn't enough good camping locations to justify having it. Just not using it like I thought we would. But.. We do have Raystown lake which is 29 miles long of fun boating

They really are great! Awesome boats for all around boating. Perfect for having lots of people and relaxing. But they can also pull tubes and skiers really well. This particular one has a mercury 220 hp inboard outboard and it will really move.

Thats the only way I'd do one if I was able to pull a skier or tube :thumb: I grew up on the lake, my parents started out with a 17' glastron, and upgraded to a 21' century with a GM 4.3 V6 I/O. I use to love to ski/tube.

Pontoon boats have come along way. They used to just cruise slow and steady, now they can manuever and hit speeds that make all the watersports just as fun without sacrificing comfort, storage, etc.

My uncle has a 22' Tri-toon with a 200 Johnson on it and that baby scoots. It runs dead even with my other uncles '05 Four Winns and thats when it has 6 people in it... Its kinda funny actually
