2010 Sierra Nav, Mp3, Usb Radio (option Uul)

I have the above vehicle with the Option UUL radio

This unit has the Touch Screen NAV, 6x CD Changer; MP3 Capable; USP Port in Center Console.

It is quite a sweet unit for a factory radio.

1.) Browsing USB Stick

However, one PITA is that I can't browse the USB folders if the vehicle is moving.

The scroll bars go gray on the LCD screen

If I come to a stop, they light up, so I can scroll up/down on the list

On my previous vehicle (2005 Cadillac Escalade), there was a mod to the back of the radio to remove the "Vehicle at Speed" wire and you could enter NAV addresses while driving

Does anyone know if there is a similar mod for this radio to allow all function while the vehicle is moving?

2.) Backup Camera

Does anyone know how I can get the rear camera to display on the screen when the vehicle IS NOT in reverse?

Can someone post pictures of the pin assignment on the back of this radio? I can try to hack it if I get that diagram.

That is crazy. I just installed a 6cd radio with usb in my 09 Silverado and I can browse thru the USB folders while moving. With the steering wheel controls or the radio controls.

I assume the unit you have came in the truck?

Yes, its the factory radio.

I am sure there is a "Vehicle at Speed" wire in the back of the unit. On my 05 Escalade, all you had to do was cut that wire, then you could enter NAV addresses while moving.

All I need is a pin-out of the plugs with signal names.

I know this post is 4 years old. That said:

1) Radio Connector X4 this will be a brown 16w connector, 2 rows of 8. Terminal 5 Dark Green/White wire is VSS. There should be only 6 wires to this connector, or possibly 4 if no backup camera.

2) Use a SPDT switch common terminal to camera (your current reverse feed to the camera) Next terminal (either one) the feed from reverse. ( you are cutting the reverse feed to the camera. Connecting the camera side to switch common and other end to either terminal left) To last terminal a 12volt feed that is HOT in RUN. One position of switch reverse powers camera, other position 12volts power the camera.
