Just traded in My lemon :D 06 GMC HD 8.1 liter, I had a pro comp 6 inch 16" helo rims with 315 terra grapplers, magnaflow, and K&N....

Truck problems warranty work.. alternator, Entire electrical system, kept running hot, Stereo would come on and stop working at random, Steering column, Battery/alternator issues. Warranty ran out and the rest was my issue,

Lift issues: could not keep it aligned, going on my third set of tires, Drive shaft vibration, U joints wearing out fast, Sway bar links broke twice, Soft Bouncy front end caused the truck to sway!

I literally drove this truck 10 miles a day! NO OFF ROAD! left work last week the damn thing started smoking, white smoke was coming out from under it, SO I literally took it in and pawned it for an new sierra that instant.

I HATE the new one, looks like a granpa truck, I want to lift it but a little reluctant because of the suspension issues, Should I go 4 or 6? Like to have something reversible

Biggest lift you can!! Fabtech or BDS. Some 20's and 35's HURRY that looks like my old mans truck right now

6" with 20's and 35's if you're going lift. Or level and 3" BL and 305/55/20's.

Only thing I've done to it was put in a Line-x bed liner. My last truck was chromed out, And I don't think I want that with this one! I'm just worried that ive I go 6 I'm going to start having shit loads of issues again! I was thinking the 4" SST ready lift! Not really sure at this point, I know my wheels will be 20x9.

SAB I really dig how yours is sitting

I would go with the 6". You will get the 4" and want more. I went with the Fabtech...nets more like 8". Love mine and I am not easy on it.

I totally agree with justin. You will definately want more... especially if you go with that readylift and then someone pulls up beside you w. a fabtech.

I have had the fabtech for a couple years and 40000 miles and i love it. But even with the almost 8" of lift im ready to go higher. Adding 1.5" all the way around and some new tires. If you go 4" you'll regret it almost everyone does.

I saw all the same things when I was trying to decide on my truck. The deal breaker for me was the fact that I only have 3.42 gears and I didnt wanna run 35's with that gear. I decided to go middle ground and get a 4" rancho wich is more of a 5" kit and I got some 33x12.50 toyo MT's and had to do absolutely no trimming, was able to keep my factory mud flaps that save my doors, and love the stance and look of my truck. IMO it looks very aggressive and sharp, still looks pretty tall, and still turns heads. I love the 6" trucks, but I can honestly say I am happy with my 4" and will not regret it... and with rancho you can actually run a little bigger than a 33..

JB: Your truck looks GREAT! After owning the 6" and with all the troubles I had, I'm burnt on the fact. I think I've decided to do the 4 inch with "mabey" a 1.5 body. No cutting and it's all reversible! Thanks for posting! Your truck looks really really GREAT! :nono:
