ColoradoSkiCountry Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Hey all, On the 2500 Chasis for my 08 how many grease zerks are there and are any hard to get to? Also, how many quarts/gallons are you finding you tend to use for an oil change on the D-Max with oil filter replacement? (Standard AC/Delco filter, nothing aftermarket) I've misplaced the owners manual and until I can get a new one, I am relying on you folks.
Kirkathon25 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 i lost my manual too and i found this site for mine in a pdf, http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/owners-manual/gmc/
ColoradoSkiCountry Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 Thanks but that info does not appear to cover our 3/4 & 1 Ton trucks and Diesels. i lost my manual too and i found this site for mine in a pdf, http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/owners-manual/gmc/
Black02Silverado Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Check this link out for the specifics on your 08. It gives capacities, lubrication points and torque specs for the drain plugs. It is a cool place just to go to look up capacities.
ColoradoSkiCountry Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 Thanks for the link. The site must be down right now so I'll try again in the morning. ColoradoSkiCountry Posted September 26, 2010 Author Posted September 26, 2010 Thank you again Nick, the info on that is PERFECT. I also did a search and found out that someone I know not too far from here is an Amsoil Dealer as well, and I never knew it!! I'll have to stop by his place and see what he has to say about getting a quote for 15w40. Thanks again.
ColoradoSkiCountry Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 Still needing to know how many zerks are on the chassis for the 2500HD. Anyone know?
vettelovralexand Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Still needing to know how many zerks are on the chassis for the 2500HD. Anyone know? Old ones had 11, I assume this is the same still on your truck. Locations: http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showpost....mp;postcount=12
ColoradoSkiCountry Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 Thanks. I know the GMT-800s had 11, but is that true for the GMT-900s? On my 07 1500 there was only 2. Everything else was sealed. I guess I'll have to crawl under there and take a good look.
ColoradoSkiCountry Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 Damn. 11 of them. Sounds like it's going to be as hard to do as it was on my 99. I don't have the right tools, grease gun, and such so I may just as well take it into my trusted mechanic to have them do it and request that they get all the fittings. 2 upper ball joints 2 lower ball joints 2 inner tie rods 2 outer tie rods 1 idler arm 1 idler arm support 1 pitman arm
