Power Retract Outside Mirrors

Hi all,

Is anyone aware of  a source for power retract outside mirrors for

my 2002 Tahoe? I know the new 2003 has some kind of retracting

mirror, but, from the literature, it looks like they are only to switch

between towing vs driving. I want a retract that will fold the mirrors

in....

Thanks

Joe

last time i was in sicily just about every car had them since the streets are about half the width as ours here. i believe fiat was the car manufacture in which that car i had had the retractable mirrors on them, not too sure if any after market company makes them here in the states...but i tell you its pretty cool, at a push of a button both mirrors fold in

I park my new tahoe in two different narrow garages. Folding and Unfolding

once a day gets old. I don't think they sell many Tahoes in Italy. If they did,

I would check out there aftermarket....

Thanks

The 2003 GMC Sierra's have folding mirrors as an option.  I just had one demonstrated by a salesman.  They also have the LED turn signals in the glass.  I tried to get a price and part number.  They worked for 20 minutes but for some reason could not come up with it.  I then checked with the Chevy dealer and they told me the Chevies don't have it ???

Just checked the GMC site.  The Sierra Denali comes with the mirrors standard:

"NEW! Mirrors, outside rearview, power folding, power, heated, color-keyed, driver side electrochromic (light-sensitive auto dimming), turn signal in glass, with ground illumination, and curb-tilt."

The Regular Sierra has it as an option:

"DL3 option code: NEW! Mirrors, outside rearview, power folding, power, heated, Black, driver side electrochromic (light-sensitive auto-dimming), turn signal in glass, with ground illumination and curb-tilt."

The only difference I can see is that the Denali's are color keyed and the Standard Sierra's are black.

I have seen the mirrors on a 2003 Chevy in a dealers lot.  They are very nice, and would love to have a set of them.  However, I think it could be difficult to wire them and install the switches.  I think they were a $200-$300 option on the window sticker, so I bet they would be at least $400 if not more from the parts dept, plus installation.

You can buy these mirrors aftermarket, they are sold made and licensed by Muth Safety Mirrors, you can buy them at www.kwmuth.com.

The only thing is, that they do not have an auto-dimming outside one, but otherwise they come with wiring instructions and are great.

I have them on my truck

Most GM trucks this year come with power folding mirrors, while it's not impossiblel to fit them from a 2003, it's pretty hard, the switch in the dash hooks up to the Body Computer and the computer sends the command to open or close, so the use of the dash switch to make it look stock is going to be hard to do.

I have them on my Escalade and I wish I they were automatic, when you turn off the car they fold.....

I am trying to hook up a system to make them fold when I turn the alarm.
