Another Spare Tire Question

Ok I asked about a spare for my truck earlier and got some answers but now I have some more.

I'm currently running 305/70/18 Mickey Thompsons which measure out to 35x12.2.

I'm looking for the cheapest 35x12.5x17 tire to use as a spare. A quick search shows the General AT2 is 238.00. It is 34.8x12.5. And calls for a wheel size of 8.5-11. Will that work its close but not exact to same size as the MT's.

Now could I use the 17" OEM spare wheel? I don't know the width or backspace but I'm sure it's not 8.5. Or should I just get a 17x9 steel spare with a backspace of 4.5. (couldn't find one with a higher BS).

Opinions, suggestions??? I carry a tire plug kit and fix a flat but I would feel better having a spare closer to my current tire size than trying to put a full size on the back and putting the OEM spare on the front. Also will the OEM jack work with some wood blocks work to jack the truck or should I look at getting a taller bottle jack (I'm not going to carry a floor jack around in the truck)?
