Need Some Pointers 08 Sierra!

I've seen the post for removing interior door panel w/ the great pics and have made it as far as I can from there. I'm stuck getting the interior handle off. I see the circular metal under the plastic handle how do I get the handle off or over it? Do you just have to pry the handle from inside of it to "stretch/bend" it over the catch or is the round metal catch supposed to move?
