Double Horn Beep On Lock?

This started happening this morning. I locked the doors with the key fob and the horn beeped twice. Its always only beeped once. No interior lights are on and all doors are closed. What would be causing this ?

normal operation? a sign that the factory alarm has been set possibly?

That's the thing. Normal is one beep. This was two short beeps.

was this a one time thing, or is it doing this consistenly now?

 

what about when you remove the key and use the "lock" button on the inside then close the doors...still just one or is it now two beeps as well??

Mine did that (beep Twice) when one of the doors wasn't latched all the way. Closed the door again and it beeped once.

Ill check it when I get back to it. I tried my door and it was fine this morning. Oh well if it hasn't fixed itself I get to visit the dealer again. Theyre gonna love me haha

My 2004 Suburban's horn would beep twice when I unlocked the doors and once when I locked them. I turned off the beeps when unlocking through the DIC.

the way its supposed to work is when i lock the doors the lights flash, when i hit the lock button again the horn beeps once. this morning i locked the doors and it hit lock again and it beeped twice. did that a few times. i left it alone went to work, came out and it was working fine. got home, hit the lock button and on the first button push it beeped the horn instead of the second. then i unlocked and re locked and it flashed the ligths the firt push and beeped twice on the second. its completely at random now beeping once or twice. any ideas before i go to the dealer about this? because we all know when i get it to the dealer it wont reproduce the symptoms

i turned off the horn honking in the D.I.C. ,so i don't remember if it honked once or twice

mine used to honk once. i like the honk feature. ill try shutting it off and turning it back on again

Check the battery in the key fob. Mine started double beeping, then a week or two later i had to be right next to the truck to get it to work. Swapped in a new battery and everything went back to normal.

Check you manual, but I think that this is normal. Two presses of the lock on the fob within a certain time frame just reconfirms that the doors are locked and the "factory" alarm is set.
