Hey,

You have what is know as a light duty 2500. it is basically a 1500 with 2500 drive train and suspension components. I have a 95 2500ld 4x4 truck. it surprises a lot ppl when i take it in to get work done.

Basically, they all had the same options for engine/tranny. Just that the 2500 LD had 3/4 ton suspension and 6 bolt, and I believe the HD went to an 8 bolt and 1ton springs. My best guess, havent seen one around here in MN, nobody really has anything bigger than half tons except me

I have both a ld 2500 and a hd 2500. the only differance like was stated is they put 8 lug on the hd and 6 on the ld. also the spring setup is equal the that of a light 3500. so same struck different springs

in this generation of GM trucks,

LD 2500 had GVW 7200 lbs

Regular 2500 had GVW 8600 lbs

.. technically there was no HD2500 at that time

as mentioned above the LD had the 6-bolt axles, with 14bolt semi-float rear end

and the regular 2500 had the 8-bolt axles, and came with either semi-float or full float rear end.
