New Truck, New Wheels!?

Hello everyone. I am about to buy a 2011 GMC Sierra Extended Cab 4x4. Just debating on the color, and waiting for a day off to go pick it up. Anyway I have been leaning towards the Storm Grey.

 

Never being able to leave anything alone, I will likely be after a set of rims ASAP. I am leaning towards the ever popular Matte Black KMC Rockstars, or Matte Black KMC Revolver.

 

This is where I need help. Would love to go to 18"s or 20"s, however I don't really want to lift the truck. Is that possible? If not the Revolvers come in 17" and I could go that route. I was wondering if I did go to the 18" or 20" what size of tire could I run without rubbing? I would like to go with something All Terrain or Semi Aggressive.

 

Any help at all with offsets or anything like that would be great, I am not really wheel and tire smart.

I've got a storm gray Slt and love it. I'm running a stock wheel size of 275/55r20's. My wheels are 20x8.5 and have a backspacing of 5.5". They fit perfect in my opinion. The tires are Cooper Zeon LTZ's and they are an awesome tire. Photos' don't do them justice. I'm going to switch to a 305 for the next set. I'd like a little bigger tire.

Awesome, thanks for the help. Looks I need to at least level the beast. Also nice truck, I love the color I think so sold me. It also matches my quad which is the reason for this purchase ha ha.

These trucks need at least the 2" RC leveling kit... they just look SO MUCH better. And I absolutely love the Metallic fleck in the paint. Just sparkles like crazy in the sun.

The Rockstars come in a 20x8.5 with a +10 mm offset or 5.1" backspacing.

 

The Revolvers come in a 20x9 with a +18 mm offset or 5.7" backspacing.

 

There are obviously other options but I chose what would work best for you in a 20". If you wanted to go with a look similar to Ron's truck, and run a 305/50, then I would opt for the Revolvers. The backspacing of the Rockstars would cause a little more rubbing than you may want with that tire size. But if you go with a tire that's a little smaller like a 285/50, then the Rockstars would work out. It really all depends on which wheels you pick. Good luck with your purchases.

How much would a set of 18" R-stars stick out from the fenders? .... I believe the offset is 0 ??

Thanks for this reply. Either or doesn't really matter a whole lot, I would prefer no rubbing at all though.

I would rock the Revolvers then to minimize the potential for rubbing.
