09 Tahoe Ltz, Does It Have Cylinder Deactivation?

Am looking at 09 Tahoe LTZ's to replace an old 99 Tahoe LT.

One of my main concerns is cylinder deactivation. As near as I can tell, it became the standard on 2010 models and I'm about 99% certain that I don't want it. Did any of the 09's have it and how do we know the difference?

We've decided on 09's over 08's to get a longer warranty and the six speed tranny. Everyone seems to think they are a big advantage over the 4 spds. I've had alot of the 4 spds, never minded them but one of the vehicles with 4 spd needed to be rebuilt twice by 120k miles. Others have been AOK. For some reason the one that needed to be rebuilt, always would downshift two gears on a hill if it downshifted. It was the only one of many that behaved that way, never understood it.

Sorry to sidetrack. The main concern now is cylinder deactivation, which I read no good reviews on and would like to know if it might be in one of the 09's. If so, how will I know? The truck we are most interested in has everything available as near as I can tell, not sure about "power running boards", don't care one way or the other.

Thanks for any help, you guys have been great.

Most '07-up Tahoes have it.

Don't worry,Its not as bad as it seems!

I have a 2010 Avalanche LTZ with it and I have no complaints.. but if it is that big of a deal you can always buy a tuner and shut it off..

Thanks guys. Would it void the warranty if you disabled it?
