Replacing Foglight Bulbs

Do you need an engineering degree to change these as well? :)

They look easy enough to switch out, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to take the connector out, it almost looks as if it is part of the bulb itself

Don't even get me started on the headlight bulbs...

I'm very dissapointed with how difficult these are to change as opposed to my 800 truck

Anyways, if anyone can give me a heads up on removing the connector for the foglight bulbs, maybe I can save some $ when I bring my truck into the dealership to have them install my headlight bulbs

Really easy. Squeeze the tabs on opposite sides of the housing to remove the socket from the lower bumper. The trickier part is getting the bulb off the socket, just squeeze the tab on one side and it will come apart (a small flat screwdriver may make this easier). Be careful not to lose the gasket inside and make sure it "clicks" when you install the new bulb. You should be able to perform this before you finish the beer you just opened or we must take away your man card. :D

BTW. Dont bother getting LED's. As Rich told me the light output would be bad, I tried it anyways. There is no light output with LED's in the fog's. Go for a nice bright set of bulbs or go HID.

Looks just like the ones I replaced a few days ago. I went with the nokya yellows though. I pulled the wire harness off the bulb there is a little tab on top that you depress and it will come right off , you can see the tab in the pic.. Then pinch down on the tabs on the bulb and pull out. I broke the tabs off on of the stock bulbs because I pried out instead of pinching them in. They only go in one way there are 2 slots on one side and one on the other side of the bulb as you can see in you pic two on the left and one on the right.

thanks boys

I didn't notice the clip on the bulb itself, came off in 2 seconds once I found it

how bright are your Nokya bulbs?

these putco's don't seem too great

I like the nokya bulbs they were better then I was expecting and very yellow. Overall happy with them. I'll try to get some pics up when my low beam HID's come in.

Get H16/5202 HID's for fogs... you will not be sorry!

Just got my DDM low's & fog's installed... super white & super bright!

EDIT: Just noticed you have Silverado, not Sierra. I've heard HID's may or may not melt your fog housing, so forget my suggestion.

I'm not interested in HID's, there's already enough people with im-properly aimed hid's blinding on-coming traffic, I don't want to add to the problem.

I MIGHT do lowbeams, but I doubt it... there's just too much glare from the stock housing

I love to see that, thanks!

Can you take a snap shot of them now? I was thinking how the yellow fogs look like on the GMT-900's?

I'm happy with my yellow bulbs, they're not as bright as I would have liked... but definitely noticeable.

I'm sure I'll be even happier once we get some bad weather
